Quote: Tell Them

Our political leaders will know our priorities only if we tell them, again and again, and if those priorities begin to show up in the polls.

Peggy Noonan in Patriotic Grace: What It is and Why We Need It Now, c. 2008

We memorize factoids about celebrities. Finish a 007 movie marathon in a weekend. Like and share hundreds of memes, videos, and selfies.

Rather than frittering away our time and attention, we can divert a little toward meaningful communication. We can and should tell our elected representatives what we want, what we value, and what we will not tolerate.

They work for us. We pay their salaries.

Be respectful. Be clear. Be honest. But don’t be shy. Our liberty and our future depend on legislators hearing from BOTH SIDES.

Go now and look up your local and state reps with as much zeal and immediacy as you look up “how old is Drew McIntyre?” or the name of the actor in Buckaroo Bonzai.

It’s easy.

Thank them for fighting for your rights, or tell them you know they pretended ignorance of documented, ongoing voter fraud.

Tell them it ends now. Either it does or our American freedoms disappear – like Venezuela, China, and pre-WWII Germany. Then, everything you love about your life and comforts you take for granted will fade into folktales.

We can stop it now. We can if we try. We can if enough of us try.
