About

Wife, mother, writer, runner – all contribute to the life-long learning I share with you from our noisy, messy, thankful home in Hawaii.

I applied a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh to a few years of classroom teaching, tutoring, and educational consulting in Pennsylvania and Hawaii. Raising kids, homeschooling, and self-directed learning has taught me far more.

I’ve been a barista, receptionist, grant writer, program director, and call-in public access tv show host (tips and tricks for taking the SAT), all before the internet took off. Being a writer now is the most fun, compelling thing. It forces me to watch my words.
