Character, dignity, and respect. Not racism and social justice. “Green Book” was a surprise. Although set during racist times, the story wasn’t about racism.
Two men from different worlds go on a literal and metaphorical journey through 1960s American South.
The movie poster is misleading as it looks like reverse racism. Rather, it accurately shows the space between the main characters in the beginning which decreases as they spend more time together.
Who should watch:
- Like character-driven stories
- American history
- Historical settings
- Stories with a sense of place
Well-acted, well-written, well done!
