You know what I love about emergencies?
They are excellent opportunities to reflect.
- What matters?
- What do I want to preserve?
- What isn’t worth the time and energy?
- What makes life good?
- Do I have any regrets?
- How can I make this life one I’m proud of?
- Who matters and why?
- Who doesn’t?
If you are quarantined, sick, or at home because school or your event was cancelled, take some time (15 minutes, to start) and write about these things.
Write, not just think. Handwrite your responses so your subconscious can speak to you. It’s shy and used to being shut away. You might need it now to explore these questions.
Grab a pen and an appealing notebook, or plain lined paper.
Write a question at the top.
And listen for the answer.
Then, do something about it. Because life is short, and these realizations are gifts.
