“The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth, dwelling deeply in the present moment and feeling truly alive.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
The reason I run trails is to be in the moment, to feel thankful, to marvel at the miracle of nature. Without a careful awareness of your surroundings on a Hawaii trail, you are likely to become closely acquainted with gravity and the ground.
Surrounded by life, earth, and air, I imagine it’s like being a star in a galaxy of celestial bodies: timeless, connected, and elemental.
