Dads, you don’t have to be great; you just have to try. By defining yourself as a dad, it is clear where your priorities lie. You will see the effects of your parenting in how your kids treat others and how they feel about themselves. When they do something hard or selfless, or when they fail, tell them you are proud that they tried. Tell them they should be proud of themselves.

Kids know they are loved by what Mom and Dad do. Being perfect parents is not important, showing up, being present, is.

Lousy parents know they are screwing up, they just don’t care.

Keep it up, Decent Dads. Dads matter.
